Conduct a Conformity Assessment Review of Explosion-Protected Equipment

Degree Qualified Electrical Engineers (Technologist Members or Members of Engineers Australia may be accepted).
Competency Description
Upon completing these units of competency, the learner will be deemed competent to conduct a conformity assessment review of explosion-protected equipment.
Course Overview
This course includes the competency to conduct a conformity assessment review of explosion-protected equipment, focusing on ATEX, CSA, FM and UL equipment as defined in AS/NZS 60079.14:2022 Appendix ZD (Conformity Assessment Documents) for Group II and Group III equipment.
Course Entry Requirements
A candidate seeking assessment in this unit shall have been deemed competent to assess electrical/electronic equipment and perform general technical evaluation at AQF level 7 or NZQF level 7 Bachelor Degree (BD) or equivalent, AND
Learners must have completed the pre-requisite unit UEEHA0020 Conduct detailed inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas.
Course Duration
Five days of face-to-face training (40 hours) and assessments (20 hours), including questions and answer activities and simulation exercises of practical work on explosion-protected electrical equipment. Cost A$5,000 (GST not applicable).
Course Outcomes
Our practical facilities and course materials allow students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom environment to a Hazardous Area. Upon successfully completing the training and assessment, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency UEEHA0019 Conduct a Conformity Assessment Review of Explosion-Protected Equipment in partial completion of UEE61222 – Advanced Diploma of Engineering – Explosion protection.
